What is Tanggle

Tanggle.io is an online multiplayer jigsaw puzzle platform where you can team up with friends, family, or community to piece puzzles together. You can read more about us and our motivation here.

Why do we need artists

Telling truth, we are in a desperate need of good illustrations for our puzzle gallery. While our competitors are using your art without permission, or using AI to fill their puzzle libraries with slop, we are inviting you, a real artist, to Tanggle.

Our mission is to provide our users with astonishing art to assemble as jigsaw puzzles, whereas giving all credits for the artwork to you, with an option to say thanks and directly support you financially.

Important: We are not asking you to create new art for free. Instead, we would love to showcase your already completed unlicensed art in our gallery. This offers you extra recognition and the possibility of receiving donations for work you've already created.

What do we offer to artists

Recognition and potential support from our players. Every time your puzzle is assembled, all players in the room see a pop-up with your social links and a button to support you. You will be also featured on our featured creators page.

Support button may be any link of your choice (e.g. your Ko-fi/Patreon/PayPal page or online store). We don't take share from donations.

What we don't offer

We don't offer any monetary compensation. All your art is made available for free, and donations are voluntary. This is due to the fact that Tanggle is not profitable yet and we don't have resources to license art.

We are considering different options to provide artists on Tanggle with a way to earn money directly off the platform in the future.

How does it work

As we are just testing things out, application process is currently manual. If you want to be a part of Tanggle, please contact us via Discord (preferred) or email.

Terms

Your art is your art — you reserve all rights to your art and can tell us to remove some or all of it at any moment. You can even provide us a link to your licensing page and it will be displayed on your art page.

Art eligibillity

• No AI — we don't accept "art" that was made using AI.
• No NSFW — we don't accept art that is inappropriate for younger audiences.
• Suitable for a puzzle — not every piece of art works well as a jigsaw puzzle (even if it looks really awesome!). Properties of a good jigsaw puzzle are:

  • High resolution source. Puzzle must be sharp even when zoomed in.
  • Detailed with distinct sections. Puzzle must be not too abstract and have clear separate areas for assembling.
  • Colorful. Gradients are fine, large chunks of same color are bad.
• Signatures/watermarks are welcome — there isn't such thing as too little credit!

Our take on AI

We do not accept AI images for our public gallery and do not consider "AI artists" as real artists. We won't ever use your art for AI training nor will ever give permission for anyone to train their AI models on your art.

As our gallery is public, we can't technically protect your art from unwanted AI crawlers. You should consider protecting your art yourself using Glaze and Nightshade.
